Here’s the ever-evolving plan…

There is no registration process. We have a pile of reasons for this but they are not worth cluttering this page. We may have 20 people show up, or 200.

Each morning we will meet at the food trucks. If you want to attend a guided ride, sign up while there is still space. Riders with bikes in the 700cc+ class (Adventure Bikes) will be able to sign up 15 minutes earlier than riders with smaller bikes (Dual-Sport Bikes). Some rides will be full day, others will be half day with a return to the food trucks for lunch.

Most, if not all, of the novice rides will be self-guided. You will be encouraged to form your own small groups and either create your own adventure, hook up with a local, or follow one of our GPS routes. We have a limited number of event Ambassadors and most of them want to be riding the harder stuff.

There will be a lot of intermediate rides with “Big Bike” difficulty ratings of around 3/6. You can choose to join guided rides, create your own, join another local, or follow provided GPS tracks.

We have a handful of routes for advanced riders on adventure bikes with difficulties of 4/6+. Our riding areas are full of enduro trails that will satisfy even the most hardcore of adventure riders, but beware, many of the trails go into difficulties that only elite riders should venture in to. Join an ambassador, meet a local, or try out one of our GPS routes if you are sure about what you are getting in to.

Join us in Vernon on September 16, 17, and 18

Here are some details for ya…

Choose Your Adventure

There is no charge for this event. We’re just some Dirt Chimps going out for a ride. You can:

  • join one of our Ambassador Guided rides,
  • take our GPS tracks and guide yourselves, or
  • create your own adventure in our many local road and trail systems.

Suitable Bikes

Anything street legal with dirt-worthy tires. 250cc to whatever monster you call your steed.

We especially enjoy our guests on big adventure bikes. This event creates a unique atmosphere for people to work together to get these bikes through challenging trails.

Routes & Difficulties

Get familiar with some of our routes by watching our videos. Remember, most videos make the riding look significantly easier.

The Plan Each Day

Each day includes morning meeting point(s), a morning ride, lunches in town, afternoon meeting point(s), an afternoon ride, and possibly an evening gathering point.

COVID restrictions will dictate the finer points of this plan.

In More Detail

COVID Restricted Plan

  • Class 1 (Paved Roads) are not guided by Ambassadors. Go have fun and do your own thing.
  • Class 2 Riders meet at Location A. Break into groups of 10 or less and depart.
  • Class 3 Riders meet at Location B. Break into groups of 10 or less and depart.
  • Class 4 Riders meet at Location C. Break into groups of 10 or less and depart.
  • Classes 5 and 6 are self-guided if there are serious group size restrictions. We’ll need all of the Ambassadors for the Novice and Intermediates. Buy hey, if you have that much skill you can figure out routes and stuff by yourselves!

Less COVID Restricted

  • Central Outdoor Meeting with Social Distancing
  • Sign up for your rides in the early morning, or create your own self-guided routes.

Event Cost & Stuff

This event is totally free. There are also no perks!

  • No accommodation.
  • Bring your own bike.
  • Pay for your own meals.
  • No event t-shirts.
  • No guaranteed spots on the ride that you want to go on.

This is not a professional event. Your satisfaction is not guaranteed. You will be asked to help others. You are part making this event happen, not somebody paying to attend.

If you are lucky you may get a decal or two, and perhaps win a prize from one of our sponsors.

If you are cool with all of this, we look forward to riding with you!

Accommodations

Vernon has a lot of options, but it is often nice to stay near other event participants. We suggest:

  • Riviera Plaza
  • Prestige In
  • Vernon Lodge

If camping, we suggest Ellison Provincial Campground, which is beautiful!

Be Prepared

Physical fitness plays a significant role as rides can take 3 to 4 hours, venture deep into the wilderness, and can have sustained levels of difficulty.

50:50 tires should be considered a minimum. None of our routes groomed!

All of our bikes are geared down for technical off-road riding. If you still have stock gearing, perhaps it is time to gear that pony down so it does behaves like a good dirt monster that is not constantly trying to kill you!

Bring riding gear for weather that could be 25 degrees and sunny (yay), or 10 degrees and rainy (ew!).

Specific Details

The exact meeting locations will be announced much closer to the event itself.

GPS routes will be released at the start of the event and in a secret online location shared only with those who attend.

Evening Gathering locations will be determined closer to the event and made public here, and on Facebook. We sure hope we can go back to taking over restaurants like we have done in previous years!

2021 Gathering Draw Prizes

We’re excited about facilitating the giving away of all kinds of draw prizes for the people who attend any of our Gatherings – Group Rides and Social Gatherings included!

Riders Edge Suspension has offered us gift certificates which can be put towards a full suspension redux!

This is, quite simply, the single best improvement that can be made to any adventure bike. Noice!

Scott & Andrew love these Zigzag Handlebar Bags and you will find them on our moto and mountain bikes! Thanks to Giant Loop, we have two of these to give away!

The Revelstoke Dry Bag by Giant Loop is truly versatile. Put it on your snowbike, sled, or adventure bike and put whatever in it. If you watch any of our 2021 Adventure Bike videos you will see Andrew is using one to carry tools, emergency gear, and some extra clothing. We have one to give away. Nice, eh?

If you watch our videos on Vernon Snow MX or Dirt Chimps Adventure Bikes then you know how much we love these little Kenwood PKT-23LFP radios! JVCKenwood Canada has donated a set for a draw prize so some lucky rider can add these to his/her adventures.

When the weather turns, the last thing you want is fogged up goggles or glasses. Simply spray and wipe for five days of clear coverage. Thanks Dirty matt of Rapid Revolutions for this raw prize!

Dirty Matt is also giving away 4 $50 gift certificates so you can pick up the phone and get some stuff on him.

Rapid Revolutions

It is confirmed! Giant Loop is sending a Draw Prize Package our way. Bomber! I wonder what they will send this year? Gotta love their stuff!

Giant Loop Website

Giant Loop has sent us a Fender Bag Kit to give away. What would you put in here? I can think of lot of ideas!

Some lucky rider is going to win these Bushwackers Hand Guards by Giant Loop!

How about a 6 way spoke wrench made by BVP, and donated by Rapid Revolutions?

This Nuetech Tubliss Mini Foot Pump looks pretty sweet. Thank you Rapid Revolutions!

Everybody has one of these by now, right? Hey, I could certainly use another, they are that good. Jump start your car or bike, use the flashlight, or charge any of your mobile devices. Everybody say “Thank you” to Dirty Matt of Rapid Revolutions for being such a draw prize champion!

We’re going to try and nab you some sweet Camel ADV Products to give away again this year.

Visit their website here.

Giant Loop has sent us several sets of these Pronghorn Straps to give away. Last year I bought a set of each size and they are always in use, or standing by, in my Jeep, on my adventure bike, and on my snowbike! We have a grey 25″ set, and an orange 32″ set to give away. Thanks Giant Loop!

Need a chain brush? This one looks nice. This one is made by DRC and has been donated by Rapid Revolutions.

Here’s a nice way to turn your heavy (and messy) Jerry Can into a little service station. It’s a battery powered fuel transfer pump made by Tera and donated by Rapid Revolutions.

Enhance your riding experience by being able to chat with your buddies. This kit, donated by Rapid Revolutions, contains a Cardo Communicators that can be fastened to your helmet. Next step, tell your buddies to get off their wallets and get hooked up!

JVC Kenwood Canada have been really great to work with both during The Adventure Bike Gathering, and on other projects. If you watch any of our videos you will regularly see us relying on these little Kenwood radios to keep everything going smoothly.

We’re going to see if we can get another set of these PKT-23  radios to give away as everybody loves them. Heck, everybody should go out and buy a set as they will find a way into many of your adventures, not just biking.

Blackfoot Motorsports has donated two Tirox Snapjacks. These babies can help you get out of a jam!

Pack your tools in style with this Oxford Underseat Tool Kit donated by Rapid Revolutions.

This is how we pump up our tires after a zesty off-road session. If you are lucky you may win this Stop & Go Mini Air Compressor donated by Rapid Revolutions.
